Abstract
**Sayyid** refers to the progeny of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (peace be upon her). This study examines the basis of Sayyid and demonstrates its transmission through maternal lineage according to the Thaqalayn School.

Using a descriptive-analytical method and library sources, this research analyzes narrative evidences from Thaqalayn (the Qur'an and the Prophet's Household) and Shi'a juristic views on Sayyid transmission.

The foundation of Sayyid lies in Hazrat Fatima Zahra (peace be upon her). This is established through multiple Thaqalayn evidences, including Surah Kawthar, where "Kawthar" signifies the Prophet's abundant progeny through his daughter, and the Khums verse.

Sayyid is transferable to children through both parents. Thus, Sayyids are Hazrat Fatima's progeny connected through either father or mother. While paternal transmission is unanimously accepted, maternal transmission is proven by numerous evidences: the Khums verse, inheritance verse, marriage verses, Imam Kazim's debate with Harun, Muhammad ibn Muslim's authenticated hadith, and Aba al-Jarud's narration. Prominent jurists including Sayyid Murtadha, Muhaqqiq Karaki, Muhaqqiq Ardabili, Shaykh Bahrani, Fayd Kashani, and Allamah Majlisi confirm this view.

Based on compelling Thaqalayn evidences and Imamiyyah jurists' confirmation, Sayyid is not restricted to paternal lineage. Children connected through a Fatimid mother to Hazrat Fatima Zahra are considered her progeny, and Sayyid rulings apply to them accordingly.
